About Us

MISSION STATEMENT “Through becoming an integral part of the community brew high quality craft beer and give back to the people who make us great”

Crooked Feeder Brewing who we are and why we are here!

Nestled near the foothills of the Long Range Mountains, in the heart of the farming and logging community of Cormack, Crooked Feeder Brewing is establishing itself in the breadbasket of Western Newfoundland and Labrador. Cormack is a vibrant community that was settled by veterans just after the end of WWII, where weaponry was traded for farm tools.

The brewery is located on the former family saw-mill of co-owner Robert Sutton. The mill was the family business for 25 years, before the downtrend in the lumber market forced it to cease operations. Newfoundlanders and Labradorians are known for being entrenched in tradition, but also notoriously hearty in the face of adversity. It is with this spirit that Crooked Feeder Brewing wants to contribute to the history of the region and breathe new life into the property.

Our focus is to create an uncomplicated and enjoyable craft beer of the highest quality; whether you’re a casual beer dilettante who enjoys a traditional blend or a craft beer aficionado who appreciates a hop infused finish, Crooked Feeder has a brew to excite your palate. Our goal is to not only reinvent simple and full flavoured craft-brewed beer, but to become an integral part of the local farming community.

To that end, and by brewing quality beers with high quality and locally sourced ingredients, we aim to develop a competitive edge in the Western Newfoundland microbrewery market.  As well, our brewing process byproducts are not wastes to dispose of, but resources with a beneficial reuse. Kettle trub will be composted to support our experimental hop field (or to give to a local hop producer) and, since the brewery is adjacent to a small cattle farm, the spent grains will be donated to the local farmer for feed.
We produce high quality craft beers that will be well received throughout the Province. Our first and foremost priority is to maintain the highest standards of quality in our beers.
